When was the last time you went for a walk—not a coffee or an errand run, but a proper, aimless stroll? Let’s hope it hasn’t been too long!
An “awe walk” is a stroll in which you intentionally shift your attention outward instead of inward. Think something like a walking meditation. Awe walks allow you to stop thinking about deadlines, unfinished projects, the strain in your relationships, or other life concerns. Research has shown that a regular dose of awe can boost positive feelings and has been associated with lower stress, lower levels of depression and anxiety, and improved overall mood. What great benefits!
Join Life Coach Ashleigh Diserio for an Awe Walk on Friday, 20 May 2022, at 8:30 am. We will meet in front of Shirlington Library (4200 Campbell Ave, Arlington, VA 22206).
Participants will be checked in and then head out for the guided awe walk. The walk will be at a slow pace on mostly flat ground, so all fitness levels are welcome. The walk should last between 45-60 minutes, but you can feel free to head back at any point. There will be breaks factored in for you to stop and take in all the “awe” you can find.
